I was asked by Rachel Giaccio to write a short news story for the Rambler this year, but as I was looking through different news sites for inspiration, I was saddened and overwhelmed by the amount of truly sad and discouraging news in our country and in the world. No matter where I turned, I was presented with news of spiking COVID cases and hospitalizations, political arguments and controversies in both Democratic and Republican circles, and general unrest and dissatisfaction with the state of our nation. However, I did not want my article to be sad or gloomy (because there is clearly enough of that going around already), so I decided to instead come into our own community of Christendom College and focus on one such happy event which has taken place here on campus.
On January 15, Aidan Fletcher and Anna LLobet were united in the holy bonds of Matrimony by Fr. Pollard here at Christendom College. The ceremony itself was short but sweet, with the chapel almost full of fellow students and professors celebrating the happy couple’s marriage. After the nuptial Mass, the crowd descended on the Commons, where the reception was held. Maid of honor Meredith Hazinski and best man Henry Summers gave amazing toasts, emphasizing Aidan and Anna’s joy and love for each other and wishing them all the best for their future together. Congratulations to the Fletchers!
