Dear Reader, Welcome to a new year. Classes have begun, there are new freshmen wandering the campus, and once again The Rambler has things for you to read as a distraction from things that are of far greater importance. In my last letter, I announced that The Rambler was entering a new chapter and becoming fully virtual. Not only is this to be the first full year of Rambler’s strictly online presence, but this is also the paper’s twentieth year anniversary! Somehow we have survived this long. On April 15, 2003, Stephen Kunath and his staff published the first issue of The Rambler . In light of their accomplishment, we will be releasing some special surprises for the Rambler down the line that you are sure to enjoy . Recently a friend told me that she was craving oranges and chocolate. Another friend responded that she had a bag of oranges that needed to be used. So, to feed two birds with one cookie, I came up with a simple and delicious recipe for Orange Chocolate Cookies! This seemingly uncommon mix is an easy to bake delicious treat that is sure to liven up your day and make you crave more! Even better, the ingredients are common and cheap! Orange Chocolate Cookies Ingredients: 1 stick of butter/margarine 2 cups of white granulated sugar 2 eggs 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon of salt 2 1/2 cups flour 2 medium or 1 large orange 4 ounces chocolate chips or baking chocolate (roughly chopped) Instructions: Preheat the oven to 325℉. Cream the butter/margarine and sugar adding 1/4 cup at a time. Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract. Add the baking powder and salt. Fold in two cups of the flour 1/2 cup at a time.
